The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported last Friday that Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced its plans to acquire Atlanta gaming software and support company Super Computer International (SCI) for an undisclosed amount.

SCI CEO Jesper Jensen will remain to head the team.

SCI developed PlayLinc, a next generation online game browsing and messaging platform that includes social networking tools like IM and VoIP, buddy tracking, player invitations and team management.
