It’s Official

We’ve been putting this off for a long time, aG is now closed. The bottom line is that we just didn’t have the time needed to turn this site into what we had envisioned, which turned into us not doing updates at all. It’s a slippery slope.

So, what does this mean? I firmly believe that you can’t just quit the internet, and although we weren’t able to keep aG going this time, who knows what the future will bring. aG will stay up in it’s current form until we can give it the solid reboot that it needs, or until someone else seems like they can handle it. It’s a good domain, and a great idea, and one day, maybe it’ll come back and reach its full potential.

For now, visit the links of our friends, click through our old posts, and comment away.

The First Computer-Made Music

While digitizing their older content, the BBC discovered that they have the first recording of a computer playing music. The recording is a good 6 years before IBM had their mainframe play music at Bell Labs in 1957. Check the link to hear Ferranti Mark 1 computer play God Save the King, Baa Baa Black Sheep and In the Mood.

The man is a surround sound guru who worked at Dolby for a while and not too long ago was Sony’s go to guy for everything surround on the PS3. Needless to say, Rik knows his stuff. Read the interview and soak up the goodness.

Yeah, a lot of 2?s. Obviously this game audio review would be very extensive and more than likely lose your interest by the time we arrived at game three. So I am going to review the first game I played.
